Meet The Team
Hi I’m Sherie, owner and creative director of A Beautiful You Hair and Makeup Studio.
I am a proud mother of two sons who grew up in Coolum and moved to the Gympie Region 10 years ago.
I opened the studio in 2014 and it has since grown exponentially into something that I am very proud of.
I became one of a very small number of Curly Hair Specialists in Australia in 2018, trained by the very talented Amanda & Peter Rickman. My passion for curly hair and unique techniques in cutting and hydrating curls has become quite a niche in South East Queensland and I am very humbled when ladies travel from quite a far distance to visit with me in the salon.
I specialise in all curl types and textures delivering a fantastic cut that suits not only your unique face shape and curl type but also suits your lifestyle. The education and experience that my guests are treated to, I am constantly told, is like no other experience they have ever had in their lifetime of visiting salons.
Of course, I am extremely proud of my team and all we have achieved together. Anyone who has ever been a guest at A Beautiful You, will understand we do things a little differently to any other salon.
My team are passionate about their hairdressing careers and their guests and constantly strive to exceed their expectations. We work in a very comfortable and relaxed environment and are able to achieve fantastic results due to our continued commitment to upgrading and perfecting our skillset through ongoing training.
With my team’s commitment and dedication to self-improvement, education and innovation it is clear to me that our dream team are the best in the business.
Something you may not know about me is that I suffer from Katsaridaphobia (an unnatural fear of cockroaches)
Being the owner of a successful business, spare time is rare, but my down time is an opportunity for me to spend time with family and friends, or relaxing my mind with a good book or tv series.
My superpower is the ability to always find a positive in every situation

Rebbeca
I am a mum of a tribe of kids and have lived locally for most of my life. I love spending my spare time outdoors, especially on the beach or 4wd track.
I began my passion for hairdressing at the age of 15 and here we are, over 20 years later and I am still loving it every day! I have been a part of the A Beautiful You Family since the beginning, where I have grown as a stylist to specialise in all aspects of hairdressing but am most passionate about the way I make my clients feel when thety are in my chair. I love working at A Beautiful You because we have an inspiring team of women that are fun and vibrant.
Something you may not know about me is that I am terrified of storms. My superpower is other than being a mum to my cool little tribe of kiddies, I make a mean spaghetti bolognese!
Bec is available in the salon on Tuesdays through Fridays & Alternating Saturdays – appointments are advisable
Abbey
Hi! I’m Abbey!
I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of the A Beautiful You Family throughout my entire Hairdressing career giving me the perfect opportunity to grow my hair knowledge and experience. My passion started in the beauty industry very early on in life and
I’ve always loved to make others feel appreciated and valued with my work and now that I’ve been qualified for a few years, I’m passionate about creating that perfect look and style just for you.
I’m a blonde at heart and there’s nothing more satisfying than creating that perfect tone of blonde for my guests.I love spending my spare time at the beach, hanging with friends and of course some retail therapy!
Something you may not know about me is that I have an unnatural fear of the praying mantis.
Abbey is available in the salon Wednesdays through Fridays and alternating Saturdays – appointments are advisable
Tara
I’ve been in the hairdressing industry for a few years now, learning and growing my knowledge as a Rising Star at A Beautiful You. I enjoy all aspects of colour work and am currently loving foiling and all types of lightening. I love creating a finished look including a fantastic haircut!
You can also find me floating around the salon assisting the other stylists, applying toners and creating beautifully finished blow waves and voluminous curls for our ladies.
I am the salon Makeup Artist and enjoy creating all things pretty for you with my keen eye for detail in any makeup style your heart desires. I love every minute working with such an amazing, close team
Outside the salon, I love being a mum to my beautiful daughter and dedicating my time to family and friends.
One fun fact about me, I am terrified of spiders!
Tara is available in the salon Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and can’t wait to pamper you
Emilia
Hi I’m Emilia I am just starting out in the hairdressing industry and growing my knowledge as a Rising Star Apprentice at A Beautiful You. I previously completed my certificate II in hairdressing at Gympie Tafe. You will most likely see me floating around the salon helping the stylists at the basins shampooing, toning and giving the best scalp massage or blowdrying hair.
I am the newest member of the team and so far loving it!! I love that I get to work with such an amazing close knit team who are down to earth and treat each other with love respect and appreciation.
I love spending my spare time doing dance, and also love a good Netflix series .
Something you may not know about me is that I am terrified of bugs, any insect that flies!! Eeeek
